Cottage Theatre is a community theatre in Cottage Grove, Oregon, located in the Southern Willamette Valley about 20 miles south of Eugene. Cottage Theatre (CT) normally produces a year-round season of plays and musicals and offers theatre camps for children. Now in its 39th year, Cottage Theatre had humble beginnings: its first 1982 production was held under an old army surplus parachute on the lawn of Cottage Grove's Village Green (until a gust of wind blew the parachute away!) Since then the theatre has grown tremendously. In 2021 the theatre is completing a major remodeling to add 50 seats and make a variety of technical and safety upgrades. COVID guidelines permitting, Cottage Theatre hopes to resume live productions in Fall 2021. A member of the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT), CT was one of six theatres in the nation selected to give a world premiere as part of the AACT 2018 NewPlayFest.
